UEFA (UEFA) said on Friday that Italy and Germany had secured an additional Champions League seat next season after a good performance by their clubs in European competitions this season.
As the expanded Champions League was launched with 36 teams starting next season, UEFA said it would be awarded two of the four additional places through European performance points that go to the "best collective performance of its clubs" federations in European Union competitions.
